London After Dark: A Long-Overdue Hello

If you followed this blog in the days when London's club scene was constantly reinventing itself, hello again.

I'm James WJ Wilson. I spent years publishing about London's nightlife, with some excellent writers contributing along the way. After time in Budapest, the pandemic and a few unexpected turns, I'm back in London and returning to these pages.

I want to look at worthwhile nights out, changing neighbourhoods and the people who make a venue worth returning to. There will be room for memories too: the clubs, music and nights that still come up in conversation long after the doors have closed.

The older articles will stay as part of that history, with their dates and writer credits preserved. Guest lists, offers and venue details in those reports belong to their time; please check directly with venues for current arrangements.

I'm also building FORBIDDEN.LONDON, a hospitality marketing business, so I'll occasionally share the view from behind the scenes as well as from the dancefloor.

If you read, shared or contributed over the years, thank you. What do you miss about London's nights out—and what has changed for the better?
